Medium length hairstyles

If you have minimum time to maintain great everyday medium length hairstyles then :-

  • Look for a style that is all in the cut so there is minimum styling required. Your cut should look like it is part of - you - it fits so well.

  • Don't forget to use your personal style requirements you discovered in the hairstyle guide.

  • Blast your hair to almost dry before you apply your styling aid, this will add volume.

  • Apply your styling aid to the roots as well as the lengths of your hair- Sprays are great for this very reason.

Medium length hairstyles are a perfect fit for fine to medium hair.
Bodifying shampoos and conditioners work wonders. Blast-dry excess moisture from hair to just damp - by drying with your head tipped upside down, and rubbing the scalp lightly to dry so it has body and will not sit flat.

Mist with styling spray especially the root area - depending in your style and hair type - style to dry into its shape. A large round brush, is perfect for a smooth effect on fine to medium thickness of hair. For more curl or fullness change to a smaller diameter brush

Curly Hair

A diffuser is best for curly hair. Tilt you head to one side - or even upside down if hair is fine - to allow the hair to dry slightly lifted from the scalp for extra lift and volume.

Do not comb your hair - as you want the ends of curls to sit together in narrow clumps a little like it does when it is wet.

If you comb or brush your hair here it will separate all the ends and hair will tend to be fluffy or frizzy. When using a diffuser - leave the ends with the slightest dampness to allow the curls to sit together - I must emphasize though only just- just damp.

Thick Hair

Dry the excess water from your hair so it is just damp. Style it dry into your shape with a spider brush for lift at the crown and top.

A large round brush for the longer hair will give some control and smoothness. Don't dry your hair upside down for fullness - unless that is what you are after and you want big hair.

If the lower hair is shorter a slightly smaller brush to flip out the ends - this is great for bringing out eyes and cheekbones.

Magic happens ........when you, your cut, color, and stylist work together.
