Hair dye troubles.

My natural hair is a kind of dark/ light brown, in the middle. I got red streaks in it, then I dyed it black, then when I tried to dye my whole hair red, I realized that "dang, I cant get past this black". So I tried the red again, and it turned out a kind of reddish color in the light, I used "Schwarzkopf live XXL" or something, then used another brand of red, which made it brighter, outside its really bright red, & a dull red when it’s not under light. Now I want to go back to brown, I don’t mind if the color I go back to is light, or dark brown, so long as it’s brown, how do I get it back to brown? I want minimal hair damage instead of trying and testing different dyes etc. Answer Hi there, You have permanently changed your hair color now – so to achieve a medium brown you will have to color your hair once more. This can be achieved with a semi or demi color and my suggestion would be for you to go to a stylist who can assess the color in good light and choose the correct color for your desired result. If you must do it yourself start with a semi color ( not a pack with two bottles to mix together) choose a light or medium ash brown. (The ash will neutralize the red) Before the color shampoo twice with a clarifying shampoo and do not use conditioner. The semi color will be gentle on your hair and cause no further damage. You may find that after a few shampoos the color will have faded and you will need to re-do the brown again. You may need to continue like this until it has grown out completely. Good luck
