for fine hair
= extra care.

Fine
hair is
often oily - not that it is more oily than regular hair, a
small amount of oil will coat your hair more easily and weigh it down.
Often a shampoo and conditioner designed for oily hair will boost it by
making it more weightless.
Always use products designed for fine hair - conditioning products will
weigh it down.
4 easy steps to
your perfect style
* Before shampooing
- give your hair a stimulating brush in all directions all the
way down to the scalp. Use a good boar
bristle hair brush.
Brush all the way down to the scalp. This will stimulate the blood supply
to your scalp and more importantly to the area of the scalp where the
hair cells are formed. Better blood supply to new hair has to mean
better hair!
Do not fear that it will make your hair oily - the shampoo will wash
out the oil.
Take a look at our gallery of hairstyles for fine hair.
You must never,
never, never detangle your wet hair with a brush after
shampooing. When hair is wet the moisture component makes your hair
more elastic.
Fine hair is very
individually thin and brushing
when wet will stretch
your hair beyond the point of no return and it will snap.
This point is important for all hair types but it is absolutely
imperative with hairstyles for fine hair. Only ever use a very wide tooth
comb on wet hair.
Use your wide tooth comb to comb
the conditioner through your hair before it is rinsed out.
This process will remove most of the tangles in the gentlest way.
Avoid shampoos that have a silicone
base. It will build-up on your hair and become
stronger than the hair itself, and eventually become brittle and break
- your hair will break
with it.
Did you know color can
give the appearance of thickness
Styling aids- hairspray, gels waxes etc will build up more easily
on fine hair and this will make styling
more difficult. You will not notice this build-up yourself
as it happens so gradually.
Have a clarifying shampoo
on hand ( a shampoo designed specifically to remove such build-up- most
good hair companies make them).
Use the clarifying shampoo at
least every 3rd or 4th time you wash your hair - in place of your
normal shampoo then condition as usual.
Use clarifying shampoo only as recommended as it will dry your hair if it is
used too often.
- Only have an experienced
hairdresser cut, color or perm your
- it is not simple to cut, and is too easily over
processed.

No time to shampoo:-
Hairstyles for fine hair are usually best if washed daily
as they flatten easily. If you have no time at all to wash your hair
in the morning - the
following procedure will help.
It will
not be as good as if you had washed and styled your hair.
If your hair is a little oily then use
a dry shampoo, or if it is light or dark blond sprinkling
lightly with baby powder will do the trick.
Brush out all the dry shampoo or powder well - all the way down to the
scalp.
Blow dry your
hair as usual- yes I know it is already dry - use the
round brush and the heat to set some bounce smoothness and lift into
your hair.
Or try some curl with hot
rollers or tongs.
For those with curly hair you can use the large round brush to smooth
out and control the curl.
This is not the best
option but it could help you get out of a sticky
situation - sleeping-in for instance.
Hair-extensions
can perform miracles on your hair - just love
the feeling of abundance and glamor it will give your fine
hair.
